Sea Moss is the G.O.A.T

Let's talk about the audacity of sea moss!

Sea moss comes in a variety of species (Irish Moss, Chondrus Crispus, Eucheuma, Genus Gracilaria and Contonii) and colors (medically coined as phytonutrients). These colors exhibit different properties and benefits.

Gold Sea Moss

The most popular and commonly used color of the three known; it is only one that is sun-dried. Compared to its other two color counterparts the taste and smell are very minimal.

Purple Sea Moss

With all the same mineral an vitamin content of gold sea moss, the purple variation contains powerful antioxidants known as anthocyanins common to blue and purple fruits/vegetables. These antioxidants are known to combat against free radicals and are affiliated to health benefits such as stronger bones, a healthier heart, lower inflammation and protection against certain types of cancers.

Green Sea Moss

High in chlorophyll - the 'powerhouse' of plants which accounts for their natural green color. It can also act as an all natural body deodorizer and detoxifier as well as healing the skin and reducing bacterial growth in wounds.

Both purple and green sea moss are more rare to find. They are both dried in a dark environments to avoid losing their unique colors and benefits.

Now, let's tackle authenticity.

We always hear (see) 'wildcrafted sea moss'. You may be like 'well, what exactly does that mean?'. Simply put, wildcrafted means that the sea moss has been grown and harvested from its naturally occurring habitat (ocean) versus being engineered/manipulated in a pool or on a farm.

Lastly, let's discuss benefits.

Aside from its noteworthy nutritious content other benefits of sea moss include (but are not limited to):

Could act as a natural decongestant/expectorant (rids the body of mucus)

  • Sea moss is extremely potent with potassium chloride a mineral that calms inflammation of the mucus membrane. This property allows sea moss to be able to help rid the body of mucus.

Supporting the immune system

  • Anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, anti-viral.

Aiding in digestive health

  • Sea moss assists as a prebiotic for your gut, allowing good bacteria to thrive. Bursting with fiber, sea moss encourages a healthy colon and digestive system, while removing harmful bacteria.

Can aid in controlling appetite (natural suppressant)

  • Fucoxanthin is a naturally derived carotenoid found in sea moss that is known for its fat burning capability, and the ability to reduce fat mass. Because of sea moss's high mineral content and ability to absorb moisture it acts as an appetite suppressant.

Boosting energy and metabolism

Rich concentration of iron

Assists in augmenting and supporting thyroid function (due to its affluent iodine content)

Assists with comforting joint pain and rejuvenating connective tissue (soothes inflammation by removing toxins)

May help intensify the libido

Excellent source of collagen which is great for the hair, skin, and nails

Sea moss is also a natural emulsifier so instead of using flour or cornstarch to make that tasty roux, try adding sea moss.
